Principle
Why we ride historic routes — and do not re-enact them.
The lines come from the pioneer era of cycling. Back then the bicycle still had to prove what it could do. The routes connected cities, countries and landscapes.
Supergrevet does not reconstruct these lines as re-enactment. No wool jerseys, no penny-farthings. What interests us is the original question: how far a bicycle carries you when you rely on the bike and your own decisions.
So the lines are read anew for the bikes of today. Not a copy of every old road, but a rideable link between history, landscape and the present. A line is not a GPX quotation. It is a route you ride today.
